Take Your Authority

In Luke 10:19 Jesus said, "I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you."  The "trample" means to tread heavily so as to bruise, crush or injure and the words "serpents and scorpions" mean spiritual enemies and demonic power.

The question is, "Are you using your authority?"  Another question is, "Do you know how to use your authority?"  According to John 10:10 the thief (the devil) has come to steal, kill and destroy but Jesus came to give us abundant life.  The first thing we need to understand is that the devil only has the power we give him.  What does that mean?  It means to not relinquish your power over him by refusing to do what the Word of God says and instructs.  James 4:7 clearly states that we are to submit to God, resist the devil and THEN he will flee from us.  How do you submit to God?  By doing what His Word says!  Resist means to oppose and fight against.

Any area of your life where you're being attacked is covered by the Word of God. . .whether it involves healing, finances, emotional stability, etc.  It's ALL covered in the Word of God.  Now is the time to find out what the Word of God says about your situation, speak it out of your mouth and tell the devil to get out of your life because you believe what God says over your situation!!
