John 14:1, "Do not let your hearts be troubled (distressed, agitated).  You believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely on God; believe in and adhere to and trust in and rely also on Me." (Amp)

John 14:28b, "Do not let your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.  [Stop allowing yourselves to be agitated and disturbed; and do not permit yourselves to be fearful and intimidated and cowardly and unsettled.]"  (Amp)

These are wonderful scriptures to  meditate on when you find yourself troubled.  Jesus doesn't want us to live in a fearful, troubled state.  He said in John 10:10 that it's the devil that comes to steal, kill and destroy but He came so that we could have an abundant life.  Abundant in that text means:  excessive, overflowing, surplus, over and above, more than enough, profuse, extraordinary, above the ordinary, more than sufficient.  Now that's a great way to live!  Let's not allow ourselves to be troubled or fearful. . .let's make it our aim to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and not lean on our own understanding.
